The Harris Family has a new addition: we have adopted a Parson Russell Terrior named "Buddy" into the family. He (so far) has a very sweet and unassuming personality. I have yet to hear him bark, and if you can't tell the girls are absolutely in love with him. They are his shadow. He is almost 6 years old, and has some heart problems so he is a pretty mellow guy. He seems to like his new home, but periodically he goes off and hides - he is a little overwelmed by all the attention.
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, we loaded the troops up, and headed to a small farming town outside of Boise for the annual Cherry Festival. We had a blast picking cherries until our lips, tongues, fingers, and generally all body parts turned purple. I was the "cherry mule" as the girls and Tim liked to call me. Packing around that container full of 17 pounds of cherries brought back fond and not so fond memories of being nine months pregnant. I even started to "waddle" through the cherry orchard as my pack got more full. It was a "delicious" experience!
Our first family road trip to Bend, OR was a huge success as you can see from the smiling faces. It was packed full of swimming, bike riding, and a little bowling (on the rainy days). The 6 hr car ride was made tolerable thanks to a dose of dramamine! Although, Taylor managed to stay awake for the entire car ride both ways... no surprise there!
The Idaho girls met up with their Arizona cousins for one wild and crazy weekend! There was lots of laughter, tears, snotty noses, time-outs, spankings, sugar-filled treats, and chaos to be had for all. It was a great way to start our summer out with a bang.
Aubrey celebrated her 3rd birthday in style surrounded by all her favorite people! It was a terrific party. She has even adopted the attitude that comes with a 3 year-old much to mom's chagrin!
