Taylor (inspired by the example of her Northern Idaho friend) donated 10 inches of her hair to "Locks of Love" today. You can tell by the huge smile on her face that she was very excited to do this, and equally excited to bring the "locks" to school for share day (it is L - week in kindergarten) before she ships the hair on to an even greater cause. I was so PROUD of her enthusiasm and though I will miss her long locks I wish the lucky recipient much love with them!

Christmas came early for the Idaho girls we woke up to snow yesterday morning (Taylor's answer to her prayer all month)! Sheer delight I tell you. The only thing that can top that is their grandparents coming for a visit today from Arizona! From the Idaho Girls to your house we are sending wishes for a Merry Christmas (and maybe a little snow too if that is something on your list)!

I had a date with my two girls tonight we went to a local theatre group's production of "Cinderella." On the way there, we were minutes behind a pretty bad car crash (angels were looking out for the Harris girls as we stopped for gas as a last minute thought on my part which delayed us enough - I believe - to avoid personally being part of this unfortunate event). As we slid into the seats of the theatre, I looked around and noticed half the theatre was missing (at 5 minutes to show time), and I realized these people must have been just behind us and stuck in traffic. Then a member of the cast came out to announce that the show would be delayed because the piano player was stuck on the freeway (loud groans by all the audience followed). To drown out the moans and impatient wiggles of my own children, I started thinking of how much one event ( a car crash) could impact an entire audience, and how one person (the piano player) could hold up an entire production. I got quite a vivid visual of how this single car crash affected an entire roomful of people (and that did not even account for the poor people directly involved in the crash). It was pretty profound (like I said I was finding my happy place away from - Mom, when is Cinderella going to come on??) for me to realize that my actions (for example the prayers I send up for hurting friends and family) do make a difference in this world even if like the missing piano player I am not there to see how. Now the biggest challenge for me is to make those actions and prayers purposeful so instead of holding up the show - the show will go on!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
I was once again humbled by my five year old! Taylor included in her prayers last night a little note to God about wanting some snow in the morning. Much to her sheer delight, she woke up this morning to the smallest spattering of snow! It was all I could do to get breakfast in her before she and Aubrey went running out to play in the "snow." If you look real close you can see the faintest traces of it in the grass. I had to smile because she was right about two things: God did answer her very sincere prayer and we all should be so thankful when He does answer our prayers. You would have thought that it was the Denver blizzard of 1982 to see their excitement! Just a simple reminder to their "jaded" mother that God may not answer our prayers exactly as we ask Him to, but He does answer them and He does so in a perfect way!
